We went to Estes Park, CO back in August for a much needed vacation. It was so beautiful there, we had a great time. It is a great tourist spot, lots of good shopping and food. Aunt Becca met us there along with some friends from Texas.

Fair, Finger Painting and Swimming!

Whitney loved riding the carousel at the fair last Thursday.
Drake just ate his first popsicle. He loved it!

Finger painting!

Whitney loves to kick her feet in the pool!
She loves her new shades!

The kids spashing in the pool!

We have taken advantage of the nice weather the last few days. Finally the rain has let up enough to get outside and play. Whitney loves to be outside and just runs around non-stop. Drake is crawling a little and he now can push himself up to sit. He is determined to keep up with his sister.

Whitney's Surgery

Watching us pack the car before our trip to Denver!
Mommy, Drake and Whitney getting ready to get in the car!
At Aunt Lisa's house the night before surgery.
At the hospital waiting so patiently for her turn.
Daddy and Whitney watching cartoons.
Playing in the playroom before surgery.
Going through a tunnel!
Playing in the playhouse.
Whitney loved coloring on this elmo/cookie monster toy. Guess we know what to get her for Christmas this year.
Mommy and Whitney getting ready to go to the OR.
One last look at her button. She was not amused and so sleepy.
After surgery she had a rough time with anesthesia so she is taking a nap to recover from the 45 minute fit she threw.
Waking up from her nap.
All dressed and ready for Daddy to take her to the car so we could go home.
And this is today, she is showing me her "owie"

We can't believe Whitney finally got her button out. This was something we thought was going to happen a long time ago. But thankfully it came out at the right time for her.

She did so great the day of the surgery. It took 1 1/2 hours from start to finish and believe me, this mommy couldn't see her baby soon enough. She came out of the anesthsia too fast so she kicked and screamed for about 45 minutes before she finally fell asleep from the combination of drugs they gave her. The doctor said that her Gastroschisis repair was one of the best he had seen. (He did the surgery the day she was born.) She has minimal scarring from that and now she just has a little 1 1/2 inch scar from this surgery that should heal nicely and not be very noticeable as she gets older. She still has some tape on it that should fall off in the next few days. Tomorrow she goes to her regular doctor for her one week post op appointment and we are hoping for a good report.

Thank you all for your prayers during that rough time. We are so thankful that it's over and pray that it was the very last surgery she ever has to go through.

4th of July!

Drake getting ready for the parade to start.
It was chilly that day so Drake needed a blanket.

Daddy and Whitney flying their flags!

We went to Culbertson (10 mins from McCook) for their 4th of July parade. It was chilly that day, great parade watching weather. Whitney loved it! She loved gathering the candy that they threw and loved waving her flag!! It was a great time, we can't wait to go back next year.
