Whitney loved coloring on this elmo/cookie monster toy. Guess we know what to get her for Christmas this year.
After surgery she had a rough time with anesthesia so she is taking a nap to recover from the 45 minute fit she threw.
And this is today, she is showing me her "owie"We can't believe Whitney finally got her button out. This was something we thought was going to happen a long time ago. But thankfully it came out at the right time for her.
She did so great the day of the surgery. It took 1 1/2 hours from start to finish and believe me, this mommy couldn't see her baby soon enough. She came out of the anesthsia too fast so she kicked and screamed for about 45 minutes before she finally fell asleep from the combination of drugs they gave her. The doctor said that her Gastroschisis repair was one of the best he had seen. (He did the surgery the day she was born.) She has minimal scarring from that and now she just has a little 1 1/2 inch scar from this surgery that should heal nicely and not be very noticeable as she gets older. She still has some tape on it that should fall off in the next few days. Tomorrow she goes to her regular doctor for her one week post op appointment and we are hoping for a good report.
Thank you all for your prayers during that rough time. We are so thankful that it's over and pray that it was the very last surgery she ever has to go through.
