June 29th we celebrated Whitney's 1st birthday. We had lots of friends come including Whitney's Nebraska Grandparents and their kids. We had a ball. Whitney did great, she let everyone, including the kids hold her. And as you can see, she loved the cake. We want to thank everyone who came and for all the great presents, Whitney loves them.

We gave Whitney this elmo chair for her birthday a few days early! She loves it. If you pinch his hand he will talk and she can also spin the chair. I wasn't sure if she would like it but its become her favorite toy now.

Adoption Date Is Set!

We will be adopting Whitney on August 5, 2008 at 9:00am in McCook. Everyone is invited. That evening we will be having a BBQ at our house to celebrate!

This weekend was Bert's company picnic at Harlan County Lake! Everyone from his office and their families came. There were so many activities and so many people, we had a blast! They fed us great food all day and we had a big cookout Saturday night. Bert won the title of jokester of the office and got a lots of prizes! We had such a good time, we are planning to go camping again soon!

We are moving!

In the basement is this wood burning stove that reminds me of Memaw, its my other favorite thing in the house!

We signed the contract on this today and we will close on July 31, 2008 if all the inspections go well. It has four bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and two living rooms, one upstairs and the other down. It is one story with a full basement. Has a great back yard that will be perfect for Whitney to play in and also for a big garden. Out back is an over sized two car garage with space for Bert to put some work benches and a place for all his tools. They also enclosed the attached garage which we will at some point remodel into a game room or expand the main living room. Upstairs is all new hardwood floors which I'm in love with and a big picture window. We are so excited and can't wait to move in!

This past weekend was fabulous. We went to Abilene, Texas for our family reunion and we had a great time! It was just like the old days with the eggs golden rod, coffee cakes and cooking out! It was great that Whitney could see where I spent a lot of time when I was younger, we cant wait to go back!

So somehow we ended up with three baby pools for this summer so Whitney is going to be doing a lot of swimming. This was her first time and she loved it!! She splashed in it and even drank a little.

She is doing great! She now weighs 15.5lbs is and 27 1/2 inches long. She is crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything. She is talking a lot and copies everything we do. She is also eating just about anything we put in front of her, she loves food!
